Good question, Aptos focused on all of these areas and some have thrived at different times, such as NFTs, Gaming and Emojicoins. DeFi however continues to be one of the main aspects of this project as it has helped to increase the TVL as well as engagement and participation in Aptos from the community and beyond. Of course, TVL is not the only metric that matters when it comes to a blockchain as there are many other metrics.
It has been great to see Aptos native DEXs and other DeFi solutions be born out of initiatives like hackathons and it has also been great to see some veteran industry players like Sushiswap, Pancakeswap, Aave and others expand their DeFi with Aptos in order to increase adoption of Aptos to a greater audience.

One of the things that I do like most about Aptos is the technology behind it as well as those working on the engineering side of things, from blockchain infrastructure when it comes to delegated staking and many of the other improvements to the blockchain, to cryptography which enabled the use of Aptos Keyless accounts and introduced Aptos Connect, and more. I have highlighted the several contributions to the technical development of Aptos through an article I wrote highlighting the Aptos team members and the Aptos Improvement Proposals they have all worked on.
The partnerships and relationships side of Aptos is also great to see, seeing some of the bigger institutional players such as Blackrock, Franklin Templeton, Boston Consulting Group (considered one of the “Big Three”, (or MBB, the world’s three largest management consulting firms by revenue), even Microsoft and several others.
The list goes on, with other partnerships focusing on data analysis with Dune Analytics, DappRadar, Flipside Crypto and others which have supported since, like Xangle with their blockchain explorer for Aptos.
These are some of the things I like about Aptos, as well as Emojicoins, Gaming and NFTs.

Also wanted to add that its great several of the Aptos native DeFi projects provide points for their users as this has encouraged engagement and use by the community when it comes to these projects. Eyes on Aptos DeFi for sure in the coming months.
