Aptos Needs More Than Just Replicas It Needs Risk Takers
A recent post made a compelling case about the current state of projects building on Aptos.
Rather than echoing hype, it raised a few important points that are worth discussing more broadly:
︎ Most teams are playing it safe.
Instead of taking advantage of Aptos’ performance and scalability, many projects are just porting over ideas from other chains. Nothing fundamentally new, just old models wrapped in fresh branding.
︎ There’s a creativity gap.
You’d expect more experimental designs or new UX flows considering how young the ecosystem is. But the majority seem more interested in being “first on Aptos” than being truly original.
︎ Some exceptions do exist.
The post gave a nod to Shelby, not just for launching something new, but for actually thinking differently in how a protocol should work on Aptos. That’s the kind of energy the chain needs more of.
︎ It’s not a rant, it’s a challenge.
Rather than just criticizing, the message encourages builders to explore what’s actually possible with better infrastructure and stop settling for Web3 templates from 2021.
The sentiment isn’t bitter.
It’s the kind of push forward the Aptos ecosystem needs if it wants to stand out for the right reasons.
