Today, we’re speaking with the team behind APTree, a playful yet powerful project that combines DeFi participation with gamified NFT mechanics to make the ecosystem more engaging and accessible.

Neşe: Can you tell us about your project and its main objectives within the Aptos ecosystem**
APTree: Aptree is a project born from builders that grew with Aptos and want to share this experience with everyone.
We aim to simplify defi experience on Aptos so that there is seamless experience for both Defi Veterans as well as People from Web2.
Neşe: What’s one thing about your project that you think would surprise people who aren’t familiar with it?
APTree: One surprising element is that APTree NFTs can die if not watered. Users earn “Water Points” by participating in Aptos DeFi (providing liquidity, lending, staking, bridging, etc.) and use these points to keep their trees alive. Trees that are neglected too long can wither—but they can also be revived for a small fee.
Neşe: If your project were an animal, what would it be and why?
APTree: APTree can be an a Cat or and a dog , the same cute vibe of the pet and responsibility to feed it.
Neşe: What’s the funniest or most unexpected thing that’s happened during your development process?
APTree: One unexpected moment was when team members realized their “virtual trees” were dying because no one had remembered to water them in the testnet. It was both funny and a sharp reminder that the mechanics of responsibility and care we built into APTree really work.
Neşe: What kind of tree did your own team members get from the Seed Drop? (Any favorites?)
APTree: The team ended up with a mix of different species from the drop.

Neşe: How can new users who missed the Seed Drop still get involved with APTree today?
APTree: New User can get a seed through referrals from existing holders but we also recently announce referrals for Petra mobile so you can introduce your friends to the forest on the go.
Neşe: What are your future plans?
APTree: The roadmap includes:
- Expanding integration with more Aptos DeFi partners so activity across the ecosystem contributes to growth.
- Launching APTree Earn, simplifying yield generation
- Adding real-world utilities
