Aptos CTO Dr. Avery Ching on A.I and Development

prgm 1.1

In a previous post on the forum, I wrote about Aptos CTO Dr. Avery Ching who was on the new podcast called Glitchwire where he discussed some of the Aptos advantages regarding modularity and more.

While there will be other projects that have their own AI chatbot, Avery went over some of the things that make this integration between Microsoft and Aptos stand out. As Avery states, the way that code is being developed in modern times has changed a great deal due to AI. Tools such as Microsoft Copilot have even made novel languages such as Move a bit easier to work with for developers with its auto-completion feature that it offers. Avery stated that every developer he has spoken to utilizes tools such as Copilot to some degree to put out their code.

Avery goes on to say that Move being a barrier to entry in this space used to be an issue, but now with tooling such as Copilot with OpenAI there is a trusted companion there to assist the user on how to develop their code as well as answer questions about why certain features exist and how they are used.

”The barrier to entry for development is lower than ever”
-Dr. Avery Ching, Aptos CTO
