Is IDO same as TGE or LISTING?
An IDO (Initial DEX Offering), TGE (Token Generation Event), and listing are related but not exactly the same:
IDO: This is a fundraising event where a project sells its tokens directly on a decentralized exchange. It’s the method through which the project raises capital and introduces its token to the market.
TGE (Token Generation Event): This is when the tokens are created and distributed to participants. The TGE may coincide with the IDO but refers specifically to the moment when the tokens are minted and available for distribution.
Listing: This is when a token becomes available for trading on a cryptocurrency exchange (centralized or decentralized). The listing might happen after an IDO or TGE, or it could be part of the IDO process itself on a DEX.
In summary, while an IDO is focused on fundraising and launching a token, the TGE refers to the actual creation and release of the tokens, and a listing is when the token is made available for trading on an exchange.
