Aptos Proposal #102 // Shorten Stake Lockup

Shorten stake lockup to 14 days and voting to 3 days per community vote

Aptos currently has a 30-day lock-up period for staked tokens, one of the longest among layer 1 protocols. This duration is intended to ensure network stability and robust on-chain governance. However, feedback from the community suggests that reducing this period could offer significant benefits. Following a recent survey, the community has voted to reduce the lock-up period to 14 days and the voting period to 3 days. This adjustment balances a shorter staking lockup with providing ample time for governance voting.

For vote: Reduce stake lockup duration to 14 days and governance voting duration to 3 days per community vote - Aptos Proposal

30 days is really a long time! I don’t have that much lying around (only 10 $APT), but it’s a long time to wait…

I forget to vote in various proposals by the way
